When looking through my contact sheets, and reflecting upon my habits when shooting, I find myself strongly drawn to areas that are brightly (and artificially) lit at night. I am not sure if I am attracted to these areas because of the aesthetic qualities of images shot under these conditions, or if I am drawn to them because I see them as an area which serves as a natural gathering point for those who are out at night. Gas stations and convenience stores both have strong lighting, and a lot of foot traffic.
     I have spent a small amount of time trying to shoot in these locations with limited success. I would like to explore this idea more for my final project, I think it could be approached from either a landscape or portraiture perspective (or both).
